I've been on 150mg. of Effexor for 3 years. And I sleep a lot on this dose! At least 4 hours during daytime hours. 3 hours in the morning, and then an hour later in the day.

My pdoc upped me to 225 mg. yesterday, and today all I wanted to do was SLEEP. And when I was awake, I was lethargic and apathetic. I feel a little more clear headed at the moment, but I really don't want to move.
I am already dealing with a weight problem, and this isn't going to help!

I am thinking of just taking my 150mg. dose tonight, so I can take care of my kid's, tomorrow. :/

My daily sleeping already embarrasses me. My husband and kid's must think I am a lazy loser.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to stay on the higher dose. Or if will even make me feel better. I kind of feel like I'm in a fog right now.

Sorry for the ramble.

Talk to your pdoc about splitting up the dose so you don't take all of it at once. That might help. Remember, the first few days you increase most meds you will have stronger side effects. They generally do taper off after a few days.
Thanks for this!

sunflower, i had the same problem when i was on effexor xr and my pdoc had me split the dose into 2 daily doses at half the amount. this worked for me at 75 mg (total) but when i tried to later up the dosage i couldn't as the problem came back. so, i stayed at 75 mg for years without any of that zombie feeling by taking half the dose twice daily. i think it's worth talking to your doc about trying.
Thanks for this!
