hi,
I started back on olanzapine because I get more sleep on it and I don't feel overmedicated with it. But it makes me hungary all the time. Does anyone have suggestions to prevent weight gain?

Just will power I guess but I think nothing helps really.

I am having the same issue. I think it is something within the medication itself which makes you gain weight. I have been eating well but I have been gaining weight since starting a new med.

I hate it because it further lowers my already non-existent self-esteem.

stay away from sugar, eat raw foods, not processed, exercise

This means adding another medication, but 2 come to mind. You could try the antidiabetic medication Glucophage (generic metformin), or Topamax (as a side effect of the drug is weight loss; it's generic now too in the US).

As always diet and exercise precedes using medication.

Recommendation: If you have a Wii, get the Wii game called Just Dance.

It will really help in keeping you moving when you play the game.

Metformin and Topamax are both prescription drugs.

I have no idea what metaform is.
