Has anyone experienced a raise in cholesterol while taking Effexor? My cholesterol went up 14 points.

I can't say for sure. My cholesterol is high, but it's been a bit high for years and I have an admittedly crappy diet, so I can't say how much of it's the Effexor vs other factors for me.

I do know that it's one of those "discuss with your Dr. before using this medication if you have high cholesterol" disclaimers that's in the detailed patient handouts.

I ask because the average is a 9 point increase over 12 months.
This would be a 14 point increase in 6 weeks. I'm going to a follow-up appointment 6-1, so I'm ask if I need to change meds (again...).
