I don't know where you live but I had trouble finding anti ds that worked well, I ended up on venlafaxine and sertraline which is apparently an odd combination but worked well.
Just on venlafaxine now because sertraline hasn't made it here yet and there isn't really anything comparable.
Good luck.

I've heard of people taking Lexapro / Wellbutrin together and get good results. Just be careful is you have a seizure disorder because Wellbutrin lowers your seizure threshold, increasing the chance for seizure.

Good luck,
Andy...

Doesnt seem to be that sophisticated in England re combining drugs and trying different options, drugs I am on give me some jerky movements when falling asleep and have taken too many fluoxitine in the pass seizures are an experience i would rather not have again. Will dicuss with pychdoc, when I see tehm in a months time.

I'm on venlafaxine and citalopram and risperidone. Don't know why, but adding the risperidone (anti-psychotic) to the mix made a huge difference. It's a fairly common practice here for hard to treat depression for Dr's to try adding an antipsychotic.

Good luck finding something that works.

Yes was on an old anti psychotic when in hospital, but had side effects- electric shocks. Respiridone costs a lot more so they are reluctant to prescribe, especailly when no psychotic symptoms.

Hi Again.
I was in England when I was taking the venlafaxine and sertraline, I had a psych who was willing to try 'odd' combinations. GPs don't like making those sorts of decisions so if you don't have a psych it might be worth asking your GP to refer you just for a med review - if you do have a psych it might be worth asking if you can move your appt forward so you can discuss it with him / her.

now on venlaflaxine, mitrazepan and a small dose of seroquel. I hate taking all these drugs. hate it. pdoc said i might feel drowsy from serquel and have some side effects as come off other ad butit should help the obsessive ruminations and mood. Anyone on this combination or have any thoughts on this. do you think i will end up having to have higher doses of seroquel? how much can it go up with for depression, Bpd?
