I am on 187.5 mg of Effexor XR. I have been raising the dose every ten days because I usually have side effects from psychiatric drugs. The side effects I thought I was having on 150 mg may have been caused by my bio-identical hormone prescription. That has been changed so we will see if that helps.

It is going well, but I am getting anxious for the depression symptoms to start to respond to the medication. What dosage were you on when you started to feel relief?

Thanks!
Caramel

Hi Caramel,

I was actually on the same dose as you (187.5mg) at my highest. I'm off antidepressants now, but I didn't really notice a difference between 150 and 187.5. I've heard you can go up to 300mg though on this drug so I guess whatever works for you!

I'm on 450mg so you have plenty of room for improvement. I felt slightly better with each dose increase then it wore off, the 450mg seems to be working at the moment.
Unlike you I'm not sensitive to meds, prob the opposite if anything which is why I need such big doses to get an effect.
Let us know how you get on.

I started to see improvement at around 225 mg. But I'm currently taking 375 mg which seems to be the optimal dose for me.

Good luck with it.

I appreciate the input from everyone. Thank you!

Did you have side effects along the way? Any that have hung around? I know everyone reacts to medication differently, but I think it is interesting to know how others have responded. Have you had sexual side effects that have not gone away? (Only share if you want to.)

Thanks!
