I just went on Tegretol recently as a mood stabilizer. I've been on about everything else but Lithium over the last 10 years and was taken off of all of them for various reasons. I am particularly finding that I am even more of a basket case, but I guess I am tolerating it otherwise. I also have had facial pain for awhile, so the hope was it would help that, too--and it does seem to be. Can anybody give me any comfort that it will be okay?

I have had many clients on Tegretol that did very well on it. It is hit or miss sometimes. I knew some that didn't do so well. I hope it works out for you

when i went on this, I am also on suboxone, for opiate recovery......unbeknownst (?) to my pdoc....this threw me into wild withdrawls...from the opiate recovery drug (suboxone)....what was happening was, that it hyper metabolized the other meds in me...not letting them do their thing....throwing me into wicked withdrawls,....

weird story, but true...it was brutal.......never again will i touch this med...not to mention the horrible side effects it had on me......an anxiety level, that became so physical....an actual build up of energy at times during the day, that I would just shudder.....my body could not handle it....and i was on only 200 mgs....just not a good drug for me....

BUT EVERY PERSON IS DIFFERENT WITH MEDS......WE ALL RESPOND DIFFERENTLY.

Give it a whirl....but keep a close eye on things.

wish you well,
linda

I too was wondering about Tegretol. I am a little nervous about trying it. Some of the side effects are problems I already am trying to improve on!
