I've been using lunesta for the past few months for insomnia, and I've been miserably depressed and anxious. Just yesterday, I was reading numerous posts from Lunesta users, complaining of extreme anxiety and depression since starting Lunesta. Has anyone else had these experiences with this drug? What drug for insomnia has the least risk and side effects? Thanks for any info.

I sometimes take a similar drug, made with the same active ingredient (Zopiclone)
I find it to be highly addictive, and try not use it more than 2 days in a row, then have a break. If I take it longer and then try stop, I really cannot fall asleep and I have the most frightening nightmares when I finally do fall asleep. It did make me very anxious too. I cannot comment on the depression, as I feel that other drugs need to address the depression, depending on what your diagnosis is.

Though it never happened to me, I've read that lunesta can increase depression and anxiety.
Lunesta worked fine for me without side effects. Speak with your prescribing doctor about it. |
