Hello

Sorry to hear that you are in such an uncomfortable situation.

Lamictal is usually used for people with certain seizure disorders and as an adjunct to treatments for patients with Bipolar Disorder. I do not know what your diagnosis is.

However, Lamictal should be started at a VERY low dose and slowly increased over several weeks.

One of the main side effects/warnings is the possibility of a life-threatening rash. As for what you are experiencing, I have not found uncontrollable shaking to be one of the common side effects. Lamictal can cause ataxia, which is an overall loss of control of voluntary movements which really isn't equal to shaking.

- Did you just start this med?
- What dose are you taking?
- Are you taking any other medications along with the Lamictal?

In any case, if the shaking has not stopped by now I would strongly urge you to call your doctor.

Please keep us updated.

Thanks
Jerry

Diagnosed with Major Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and PTSD. Added the Lamictal last night to help with flashbacks.

Current meds
Cymbalta 90 mgs
Klonipin 1 mg 2x day
Xanax 1 mg as needed

The Lamictal is 25 mg to be increased every week

Still shaky...

OK 25mg is the starting dose and the lowest dose- besides splitting the pill in half. There seems to be no interactions between Lamictal and the other meds you are on. Lamictal can cause tremors and some people have a severe hypersensitivity to Lamictal.

I would advise you to call your doctor today if possible and explain how you are feeling. If you cannot contact your doctor today, it is your call whether or not to continue taking it until you can talk to your doctor. I cannot tell you to stop taking it. However, if your symptoms are or become severe, go to your local ER.

Hang in there!

Jerry

Hi
What are you taking this for?
Ever tried Zoloft? You'll never cry again! Great stuff, and not strong and scary.
Have used it for 15 years 50mg a day. I'm not sure what your dealing with.
But I can't say enough good about my experience with Zoloft.
Take care Tricee
