I made an appt to find. a new pcp and for depression. We will see if I can keep t because I am terrified of doctors now. If they can't catch something obvious like when I hadnpneumonia, how can I trust them to take my mental health serious ly. I just hate my life so much and hope I can get a md that will make me not hate my life so much.
Thanks for this!

good stuff. not hating life is a great start! a pdoc can really help, especially if you share their diagnosis with your t. i have found that it best works when the two work like a team.

hope you're feeling better soon r.b.!

Normally a doc won't interfere with a T. They will work together to help you. The T can't prescribe meds, but will understand that they can help. The pdoc or doc who prescribes meds know they won't help life skills and understanding that a therapist can help with. Both work to help you. Psychiatry is more art than science--you are right to be skeptical. But it's the best we have right now as our pysches allude science's understanding of them. Worth trying though--psychiatry has helped many of us. And some help is better than no help. Do give it a try. Take care, and do write back to let us know how you are doing!
