Hi all,

I just finished week 2 on fluoxetine. But no results yet. Just morning jitters.
How much longer before I should try something else?

(being impatient... SO tired of feeling mopey, dejected, sad).

Sorry :-( My doctor always wants me to try at least 6 weeks before we decide that a medicine is not helping. For me, usually I am the last to know that it's helping - my family and friends and doctors notice a difference before I notice it. I'm sorry it's not helping yet. Prozac gave me jitters too. I felt antsy like I always had to be moving and I just felt restless, it was not a pleasant feeling.
Thanks for this!

Elana,
With the various SSRI's I've been on, I usually start to notice an effect at around 4 weeks. Like noname1000, I've also been given a 4-6 week range for when one might expect the medication to start working. I would guess that 2 weeks isn't quite long enough. I know the waiting can be difficult. I hope you feel better soon.
peace,
garden gal

hang in there! Sometimes it takes a while longer. Prozac works great for me and maybe this will be a good one for you, but you won't know unless you give it a chance. Hope you start feeling better.
Thanks for this!
