I'm in need of a locking/child proof pill organizer (AM/PM) because I'm one of those people who often can't remember if I've taken my pill or not, and both of the meds I'm on start with an "L" so if I'm not careful, I could easily take the wrong one...and there are lots of kids in my house (five 11 and under).

Does anyone know of any good ones?

Thanks!

some others...just to let you know though nothing is certain for locking.....if your just keeping them at home i would suggest to get a lock box, just a small one to keep all your medicines in whenever i stay at my sisters i bring it with. and it works just fine.

i have seen your post in 2 other places

Thanks.

Do you know how well they work? I know that nothing is certain, but I'm looking for something convenient (which a lock box isn't).

Can you make your own in the sense that you start a routine that isn't likely to draw children's attention (bottled water and pills in the locked car, for example, and going out at a certain time of day to take them)?

It's really my mom who's got a problem with it...she's like just keep them in the bottles...and I tried to explain to her that I often question whether I've taken my pill or not, but she's just super anxious about it. I don't have a car, and I share a room with my little sister so my options are rather limited.

I'm not even home that much...right now I'll only be home for about a month, and then I'm leaving, and will be back for 2 weeks before going back to school...and then the only times I'll be home for an extended period of time will be Thanksgiving and Christmas break since I'm planning on doing spring break with my friends.

Get small snack Ziplocs/Glad bags and put what you need in there (labeled with a piece of masking tape) and carry them around with you somehow/put them in/with a piece of clothing (underwear?) you change/will wear each day? Pin them up high on the back of curtains or somewhere the kids aren't likely to "look"; give labeled "packets" to your mother to give you one a day? Let her worry about where to put them/the bottles?

I would start a routine so you can't help but know/not question whether you have taken your pill or not? Dividing the pills up and labeling them would certainly help. Can't you get a regular organizer and find a place to put it where the children don't go/can't reach easily? When are so many children that young ever "alone" enough to be looking for pills? How about the freezer?

I moved the regular organizer I bought that my mom doesn't approve to a pretty much unused cabinet in one of our bathrooms and put it on the highest shelf. My mom doesn't know, but I figure it's pretty safe since as I said, nobody uses the cupboard and it's fairly high up.

That first website had a keychain one that you had to push in both side to open it, that might work. A young child would have a hard time with that. I can never remember if I have taken mine either. I have a pill organizer hidden in the back of one of my kitchen cabinets for now.
