At the age of 29 I had a hysterectomy because I had endometriosis, I am currently on Evorel 50 patch which contains 3.2 mg of estradiol, is there a possibilty that the hrt could be part of the reason that i am suffering from depression or not? I get so many conflicting opinions....... grrrrrr

Hi, tracylee
![]() I've been on antidepressants for years and once my p-doc found the combo that worked for me (which took about a year ![]() Then the hormonal changes started happening and, for me, it really played havoc with my emotions. My depression meds were increased/changed to no avail. I talked to my family doctor and she recommended HRT. I checked with my p-doc and he encouraged it. I began (and am still on) 1 mg estradiol and 100 mg prometrium. I felt better almost immediately! What I had thought was the depression acting up at that time turned out to be more caused by hormonal imbalances. I could actually tell a change in mood if I forgot a day or so dosage with the HRT MORE than I did the antidepressants. That's just my story, if that helps at all. ![]()
