I take Effexor, Abilify, and recently started Luvox. Since starting the Luvox I've had loud ringing in my ears. is is a coincidence? if it is the medicine, will it go away in time? I think the Luvox is helping with my obsessive thoughts so I don't want to stop it, but the ringing is driving me crazy! (as if I need that!)

Thanks for reading this,
Binti

I have had ringing in my ears since I was a child and took a lot of aspirin for rheumatic fever. I have noticed on some of the psych meds, that ringing in the ears can be a symptom. Mine never went away after the aspirin triggered it, but I rarely am conscious of it now. Best thing to do is call your doc--if it's only one of your meds, it may be fairly easy to substitue something else for it if it bothers you a lot. or, if they don't think it will be permanent, they may suggest you try it a bit longer and see how it goes. I think some side effects subside over time.

I have tinnitus and it sucks.

If I were you - I wouldn't risk it - I'd change meds and come off that straight away, it might not stop after you've taken it for a while - so would be better to try another med.
