I was wondering if it's possible to be able to switch from Xanax to Klonopin?
I would still use therapy for my anxiety, but I find that the Xanax isn't holding me as well as it use to and I know that Klonopin is long acting and might be of more benefit. Of course I know it's up to the pdoc (in the end). Thanks, - Andy |

I switched from xanax to klonopin about a year ago. I believe that it is safe. Klonopin does last longer. Also, my doctor said that my body won't develop a resistance as fast as xanax does. I hope that it works out for you.

Can't say about xanax but I switched from Ativan to klonopin about 4 years ago. I like it because it's longer acting and so far my body hasn't built up a tolerance to it.

I take both, Klonopin on a regular basis and xanax as needed. I've found the xanax to have a quick but short term response to anxiety and that I need to increase that dose. The klonopin doesn't work very well for me during acute anxiety attacks, but I've stayed at basically the same dose for quite a while.
