Does toradal do the same as a narcotic?

it isn't narcotic but a shot of it into a painful trigger point sure helps me!

Do the same as?

Toradol is an extremely powerful NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug). It's like super-Tylenol.

It is analgesic (treats pain), but by an entirely different mechanism than narcotics. It is sometimes substituted for opioids following surgery, for example.

It has many side effects, and is usually used for only brief periods.

All I know is that I had a shot of it once and it was amazing! It helped tremendously.

Once, daughter had to be taken to ER via ambulance from COSI in Cleveland. We were there on a field trip and she began having INTENSE cramps. They got worse and we took her to sick station (we were a few hours from home in a strange city). They called for an ambulance because they were really concerned for her.

The dr immediately ordered a shot and within about 15-20 mins, she was completely fine. She was about 17.

All good experiences here with the injections.

good luck!

Thanks Larry for all the information. You always seem to research or know about the meds before posting. I haven't seen you post for a while and hope you are doing all right. Take care and thanks again.

Toradol reacts with other medicines in a severe way. i had horrible effects from it and almost died after receiving an injection of toradol at the hospital this year for a bad migraine.
My heart was beating so fast and uneven and there was nothing they could do except wait until it passed. i thought i was going to die.
It was horrible.
i told the student dr who was treating me everything that i was taking and she Still gave it to me and she shouldn't have,
i have to pay a larger bill to that hospital for their mistake also- for all the ekgs .It's so unfair. i was so scared when it happened.

i suffer from chronic severe nerve pain from an injury- and take oxycodone - the toradol reacted with that - it was so bad.

It's so scary what can happen when you go to the hospital and they aren't careful what they give. i had to just suffer and pray that i would make it through- there was nothing they could give to correct the medical mistake. i'm thankful i made it. That dr was so careless. She didn't even say she was sorry
