What does your doctor say? Is it working for you? If so, you should stay on it.

If the medication is working, you should stay on it.

Havnt been to the doctor lately. I am thinking about quitting it. Im not sure its working or not. How long does it usually take for sertraline to be effective completely.

It depends on how severe the depression was/is, how you're feeling now, the dosage, and the doctor. If I were you I'd stay on it for a little longer, just because of my past experiences and they weren't too good when I first came off medications.

Just so u all know, i think i want to stop taking medicine partially because of the stigma attached to being a psychiatric patient.

There's still wiggle room to increase the dosage if need be. The therapeutic dosage range is 50 to 200mg per day.

Your medications should be private, between you and your doctor. The mind is a serious thing and brain effects and controls the entire body; I wouldn't sacrifice my peace of mind/mental health for the thing you mentioned. 'hope you are well,
