My mum was being horrible to me. I'm giving up. I'm going to stop taking my medicine. I will be alright if I stop taking them. I'm a ***** and a waste.

Hey HappyCheeks,

Please do not stop taking your Citalopram. You have been feeling so much better while taking it haven't you?

Have you told your Mum how horrible she was to you? Maybe have a chat with your Mum. BUT don't give up. Going off meds is no picnic and its even worse than where you have been.

Hope your ok!!

i dont think not taking your meds would get back at your mom...it would only make you feel worse. not to mention withdrawl...that would suck. talk to her!!!! we're all here for you.

Hello I'm fine today. I'm still taking my medication. I know I'm a attention seeker.

Pls take your meds; Citalopram is NOT nice to stop cold-turkey! Ask me!
This is not about your mom - this is about you. You need to get out of the depression, you need to be happy, you need to enjoy life - you deserve this.
Remember- you are taking the meds for yourself and no-one else.

What meds did you stop?
Glad to hear things are still going well. Please journal every day through this time, and be critical of your moods, to know if you are stable or if you need to reconsider meds.
Holding thumbs for you

You may feel that you don't need it now... but that's just because you're intoxicated. When you put a chemical into your system, and then suddenly take it out of your system you become intoxicated. (I would know) You will get worse if you continue not taking your medications.
Please get back on them.

You cannot know that based on two days without medication. If two months pass and you still feel well, then you will have reason to believe you don't need it. In the meantime, you really need to be in communication with your doctor. And don't hesitate to go back on it if you start to do poorly.

I have found that citalopram takes awhile to work and for me I had to increase the dosage from 20 to 40. I'd probably feel best at a dose even higher than that. So while I felt a little better after a couple of weeks on it; I felt a LOT better after like 5 months on it. And if there is one really important fact I have learned in the last 6 months -- hurting myself never made my mother behave any better to me. Be good to yourself. It is good for you and it sets the best example for others, (whether they follow that example or not.)
