Anyone use it as a mood stabilizer? If so did it make you feel confused and out of it?

I am on Trileptal for a mood stabilizer. I haven't had any side effects at all. Not sure it is doing much for me, then again, I normally cannot really tell that much with meds anyway.

Trileptal is very much the same medication as Tegretol except with an oxygen molecule attached - which means that it doesn't have many of the side effects that Tegretol did.

But as to your question - yes it is used in line with Lithium and Depakote as a mood stabilizer. As for feeling confused and "out of it" it all depends on the dosage and how your body responds to the med and how long you've been on the med. It's possible this side effect will go away. If not, talk to your doctor.

Hello, I have been takeing 600mg at bed time and 150mg 3 time day since Dec I do feel like it is helping with my mood. For a while I did have problems with concentrating and focus but it seems to be getting better another change is people at work can see a difference in me they tell me I look happier this part is hard because do not like to attract attention to myself even though I now this is a good thing. I hope you find something that works for you.....
