I have a friend on A.D. D. medication, I tried it out and it worked out greatly for me. I tried it again often enough using the drugs known as ritalin, dex and adderal. I felt an improvement in my emotional and social state. I also found that working on school or other type of work was easier, more pleasant and I get more work done. While on the drug people around me including teachers, friends and colleagues who weren't aware that my altered state of mind was influenced had informed me that they noticed an improvement in the way that i acted.
I would like to see a doctor to see if a prescription would be rite for me but I don't know how to do so. The drug would be covered by our medical plan but when I had mentioned the idea of going to a doctor of sorts to see if I would be appropriate for treatment for my lack of scholar and social capabilities. I mentioned that i knew a few people that are on the drug and that they say helps them allot (which it does). I also mentioned that the people on the drug aren't necessarily bad kids either (which is also very true). I can tell that they don't feel comfortable with the subject and avoid it with much effort. I would greatly appreciate any help on the subject. Any opinions, comments or input of any kind is welcomed. PS: I did extensive research on each drug I brought up. I am fully aware of the effects of these treatments. Thank you for the aid, Ksam |

Hi, ksam...welcome to PC!
I don't know where you go to school, but you'll get suspended real fast in my town for doing that... I suppose you would go to your doctor and tell him basically what you told us here. I presume that you have had some sort of problem with concentration, focus etc., and see if he thinks it's the right thing for you. Now that I've been helpful, I have to fuss...please DO NOT take other people's prescriptions...these medicines are prescribed in certain dosages and combinations to provide therapeutic benefit to the intended patient. You cannot know what the doctor has in mind when he prescribes a particular medicine for a certain patient. So, please, if you find yourself having ADHD type symptoms, GO TO YOUR DOCTOR...don't just bum a Ritalin off a friend. DJ
