Is anyone here on Cymbalta? Have you experienced any loss of memory, especially very short term memory loss?? My husband just started taking 60 ml and Monday, I found out he didn't remember something that happened on Sunday. I've also noticed that he has, or the Cymbalta has, shut his emotions down almost completely. Anyone else had these side effects?

Any comments are welcome.

I've never had any problems with Cymbalta...though my memory is bad to begin with and I frequently forget things in my short term memory.

It is very alarming that such bad memory loss would occur so suddenly. One of the listed side effects is memory loss, and it is listed as severe and that you should seek medical attention.

SeptemberMorn I agree with Umbral_Seraph, the memory loss your husband is experiencing is severe and you should seek medical help. Maybe Cymbalta is not right for your husband. Also, the shutting down of emotions is a negative side effect. Not all ADs have these type of side effects.

Thanks so much to the two of you. I'm going to look further into this.

I've been on various anti-depressants for the past 10 years now (currently on Pristiq) and I definitely have short term memory loss. Mine can be so bad at times that I'll forget something I said 30 minutes ago and I'll repeat myself.

I've heard memory loss is common with all anti-depressants.
