Okay, need to vent.

I contacted my doctor's office out of desperation, asking for more medical assistance while I’m still in the stinking process of finding a affordable pdoc. My doctor responded that he’d call in a rx for Abilify, that was at 3:18. About 6:30 I went to the pharmacy to pick it up, hoping (against all odds) that this might actually help me make it through 8 hours without crying. But the guy at the pharmacy tells me he doesn’t know anything about it. I explained my doctor’s office sent it in. Again he says he doesn’t know anything about it. So I leave and start crying, for what I think is my third time that day.

Today I call THE STAME STINKING PHARMACY and low and behold the prescription is filled and waiting for me. It was actually filled at 9:18 yesterday. HAD I KNOWN THIS, I could’ve picked it up last night. Now I have to wait until I get near my house after work (about 6pm), at which there is probably no point in even taking it for that day.

So I explained to the person on the line that I was there last night and was told they didn’t have it. She didn’t know what to tell me. I asked for a manager. A minute later someone picked up the line and said, “Pharmacist.” I asked if they were a manager of the pharmacy. I was told that the pharmacy manager isn’t in right now, she won’t be in until after 2pm, is there anything they can help me with. I said, no that’s why I asked to speak with a manager. DUH!

UGH!! Seriously, why is it that everyone involved in MI issues has to make everything so difficult? As if our lives aren’t difficult enough without their help. Try to see a psychiatrist and it takes you over a month to get in, and that’s if you simply schedule an appointment with the first one you call. Ask a question, then no one can answer you and they have to get back to you… in 2-3 days, at their leisure. And when you finally get the call back answering your question, they now decide to tell you the office only sees children, you can only be seen there if you’re seeing one of their therapists, or they don’t take insurance. STUPID, IRRATATING, MESSED UP BUREAUCRACY! (Believe me, if we could swear on here I’d have much more colorful words for this – which is saying a lot because I hardly ever swear!)

Do these people not get that people needing a therapist, pdoc, or psychiatric medications are ALREADY at the end of their ropes? Do they not get that half the time their responses/actions could make the difference between life and death? Each and everyone of these people involved in therapy, psychiatry and prescriptions should be made to live in our shoes for just one day. I say only one day because half way through a day in our lives they’d be begging to end it.

Rant over

Yes, I traded pharmacies because my old one messed up my ongoing/usual prescription one time too many. It was for my asthma meds, which I have to have (breathing is NOT overrated :-) and they'd mess around with it and lose it, etc. I got tired of their long lines too; now I have a pharmacist I love/trust and it is all working well.
