I got a letter today that med prices are going to increase and some are no longer on the formulary list.
At least one that I currently take will no longer be covered, unless my psychiatrist gets an authorization from my insurance. Problem is, the med will then be way more expensive than I can afford. I have "treatment resistant" depression and many meds no longer work, or negatively affect me. I don't know what to do now. |

Are you saying that even after yor pdoc writes (they usually fax) a letter to the insurance and gets your med approved, you still won't be able to afford it? If so, then for sure bring the new list to your pdoc and see what is level one. also some local pharmacies or grocery stores might have a lower price on some meds; also many drug companies used to advertise on tv that if you can't afford their meds to call their 800 number. but start with your insurance booklet, it tells you what steps to follow to get approval. good luck.

Even if he gets the med approved, it would be at least $75 a month for that one med. I can't get it any cheaper anywhere because it's one that was just released in June. It's Viibryd. haven't found anywhere cheap

Most pharmaceutical companies have a patient assistance program, through which they help people who cannot afford their drugs obtain them. You could try calling the patient assistance program for Viibryd, which is at Forest Pharmaceuticals. Call 800-851-0758.
