Diagnosis: Bipolar II
Meds: Seroquel 300 mgs before bed Lorazepam .5 mg as needed My psychiatrist prescribed me seroquel 300 mgs before bed (I worked my way up from 25 mgs). It does help me sleep, but I am always super edgy during the day. (no patience, snappy, etc.) I don't take the lorazepam very often because i know it can be addicting, and it doesn't really do anything for me, just makes me a little tired, and cranky. I have an appt. with my psychiatrist this week, but I am getting a little frustrated. I was hoping that she would give me something during the day to help with my mood swings. Is there any reason you think she won't give me any medication to help with daytime symptoms? |

I'm not sure why she wouldn't give you daytime meds...maybe she assumed you didn't need them? It's very important to be clear about how you're feeling and what your opinions are, otherwise they'll never know.
I used to take Seroquel in the morning and at night, which was helpful except I slept WAY too often. Now I just take Seroquel at night, along with 3 other medications that are doing a decent job. Perhaps you would benefit from a mood stabilizer? Everyone is different, of course. I'm just sharing my personal experience. I'm sure if you explain to your pdoc how you're feeling, she will have some ideas. Best of luck to you! ![]() |
