Lamictallllllll
Overall I am feeling much better than I have in a long time! I'm taking 150 mg effexor, 25 mg lamictal, and 1 mg risperdal....I tried going of risperdal cold turkey and that was definitely not a good idea. I was depressed and slept for most of yesterday and the day before that, got chills, upset stomach, cloudy headed, extreme agitation and kept obsessing over drawing how I was feeling all over my walls. lol I almost did it. lol So far no intrusive thoughts or racing thoughts today. Been getting alot done such as doing laundry, cleaning up, and even managed to study a little bit!
Could it be possible that I am already feeling the effects of the lamictal?
also..I have been getting headaches the past 2 days. My doctor told me to take 25 mg for 7 days, the 50 mg for 7 days, then 75 for 7 days....she even told me that i can titrate up to 50 after 5 days if I want to. I am scared of the rash though but I think I am already feeling the energy and motivation it is giving me. who knows. How do you like lamictal so far? what has you experience been?

Lamictal does work quite fast. At least it did for me. No side effects, I am at 300mg.

Good luck

It's good that Lamictal is working for you. I was not so fortunate; shortly after I started taking it my digestive tract stopped moving almost entirely!

I'm titrating slower than you (2 weeks at 25, 2 weeks at 50, then 1 at 100, etc.) but boy oh boy, the first two days on Lamictal, I felt great! Really, really great! A little hypomanic, actually, and I was so scattered I couldn't get anything done. But like usual, that was followed by a couple of depressed days, and then things more or less evened out for a bit. I didn't notice much of any difference when increasing to 50mg.

I sure wouldn't mind that little boost again, though.

I started at 25mg for 2wks then 50 for 2wks and I just called today to see if pdoc will up it since I don't see him until mid-december and I've been in bed for days. I felt pretty good around the 2nd-3rd week. I've been on it for 5wks now I believe and I crashed..hard. I cried today because I forgot to buy my kids peanut butter. Yeah, not good...

(((JustWannaDisappear))) I hope you feel better soon!

I got a new adjustment, going up to 75mg after 2 weeks on 50mg, and reducing Wellbutrin at the same time.

I think maybe the Lamictal is doing something because it's been years since my AD dose was this low and I'm not crying my eyes out. At least, haven't yet this week...
