Has anyone experience facial tremors as a result of adding Abilify?

Did you add 20 mg right away? I started with 2 mg and am increasing slowly. I am only up to 6 mg now. I will increase to 10 mg next week and hopefully this will be enough. Maybe your dosage is too big to start.

You need to call your pdoc about this to see what he has to say. Tardive dyskanesia is a side effect of all antipsychotics and it can become permanent. Facial tremors/twitching would honestly make me very nervous.

Watch out! Abilify was truly the miracle drug for me as it made the bipolar disappear. Unfortunately, I had to stop due to side effects (Akathisia) - it was awful. Involuntary shaking and thrashing for 45 mins at a time. What you are talking about sounds like TD, which are facial tremors that sometimes never go away, even after you stop the med. Also need to be aware of NMS, a condition that can kill you. So sorry about the bad news for some. It is actually an awesome drug if your body can tolerate it.

About the dosage, I started at 5, then 10, then 15, now 20 over several months. I see pdoc tomorrow and I will ask her. I just hate it becuase it has really worked well for me. I guess we will see what she says about it. Thanks for all the input.

I found the side-affects to be annoying and dropped the Abilify. I had this weird tongue twitch and developed really strong muscle spasms.
