When should Prozac start taking effect? I started it yesterday.

It will take about six weeks, sometimes up to eight. This applies to almost every AD.

Realistically, give it a month. It depends on your body chemistry.

Did your doc go over this info with you when you were prescribed it? If you have other questions, it might be good to sit down with her/him and go over some of them. Usually that's helpful.

Whenever I start an anti-depressant, I can feel an improvement with the first dose I take. It does take 4-6 weeks to reach the maximum improvement, but you may begin to feel better within the first week.
