My pdoc has raised my dosage to 300mg, making me curious as to whether there's anybody here who's at that level. If so, is it meant to serve as AD, or mood stabiliser? How's it going for you?
Thanks

I began with Lamictal to eventually replace my Depakote as a mood stabilizer. I began with 25 mg every other day and continued a slllloooow process until I am now at 100 mg/day. pdoc says that is still a very low dosage, so not sure what he will increase that to.
Sorry that's not much help, but apparently 100 mg is low, so it doesn't *sound* like 300 mg is really high, but that's just an assumption on my part.

I used to take 250 mg of Lamictal, with no problems whatsoever --- used as a mood stabilizer -- worked beautifully, loved it. So of course, I'm now off all mood stabilizers forever, because my other docs think the Lamictal caused my now-chronic physical illness. Sigh.
Anyway, I really liked it, but as always, every med works differently for everyone. Candy |

I take lamictal as a mood stabalizer. My dose is 275 mg per day. I have been on that dosage for a long time. It seems to work well for me.

It's a terrific mood stabilizer having AD type properties. I've been on it for a few years now, I take a total of 200mgs. One 100mg in am and the other in pm.
I wish you lots of luck and patience during this time. DE

Hi,
I've been on 300mg since November 2005, and have noticed a substancial difference. It's wonderful, my mania has decreased to a functional level, and I can cope much better with occasional mild dips into depression/anxiety. I recommend taking it all at night, as it can make you groggy taking even 100mg's of it during the day. It seems like a large amount to take, but I have a friend with Epilepsy who takes nearly 700mg's of the stuff (I might be wrong on this, but I know it's at least 400-500mg). Good Luck! Jessie |

I'm on 300 mgs. of Lamictal and going up to 400. I've have not had side effects yet. It is suppose to be both a mood stabilizer and an A.D. I have results, if I remember to take it

I'm on 200mgs, pdoc had me split, take 100mg am and 100mg pm. It does not make me tired, it never did. Other meds have in the past, but this hasn't.
![]() Take care, DE

I have been on 200mg of lamictal for almost a year and it helps stabilize me in combination with lithium and seoquel. However, I did notice that when I was taking the drug before bed, It made sleep a much more challenging. If anyone is having trouble sleeping and takes the drug before bed, think about taking in it the morning. It affects everyone differently of course.
