I take (...wait for it ) 4 mg of Klonopin to sleep, but not because it even makes me sleepy...it helps to keep my nightmares away.
I would consult your dr. if you feel such a strong reaction at a low dose, for sure. I know benzos can affect different people in different ways, and I believe agitation can be a side effect of them. I hope you feel better soon and find the cause of this.
Thanks for this!

I take .5 mg of Klonipin at bedtime and it really has no effect on me. It's a benzodiazapeme and thus a sedative. I take it to calm me down. If I ever feel anxious, I'll take 2 to 3 mg of Klonipin and it effectively calms me down. Never heard of a benzo making someone irritable and angry. You should check with your pdoc.

Even though klonopin is a benzo, I imagine that people can have a reaction opposite of what is expected. For instance, codeine usually knocks people out. However, it makes me hyper. I've found for myself that when the klonopin or Xanax wears off, I feel more anxious than before taking the meds. So, I don't take them unless I'm desperate. I did find Cymbalta to help with pain. I know other people take Neurontin. Sounds like klonopin isn't for you.

Cymbalta and I are not friends but just goes to show you how people react differently!
I tried Neurontin (to help me sleep) but not long enough and my Klonopin was doing okay at the time (less of an insomniac then) so I just kinda let trying it work go...it's a good suggestion though for sure and I should try it again myself, because my pdoc told me too and I never did. Ooops.
