Hi everyone.

I switched from Celexa after having been on it 1.5 months to Lexapro & have been on it about 3 weeks. The last two nights I have wet the bed. I've looked around online & enuresis isn't listed as a side effect. I always use the bathroom before I head to bed & the amounts I've peed have been A LOT. I'm not sure what to do here. It's so embarrassing! I'm 30 years old for pete's sake & this shouldn't be happening. What gives?

Well, I looked it up and found this link: http://www.ehealthme.com/ds/lexapro/enuresis

Seems like it's a very rare side effect, but it can happen. Something to mention to your psychiatrist, for sure.

generally Lexapro has less side effects than Celexa. is the Lexapro keeping you in too deep of a sleep? let us know how it turns out!

Well, it wound up happening just those two nights. My pdoc said (through texts) that he didn't think it was from Lexapro. I'm not sure what happened or why but I'm sure glad I'm dine with it! Knock on wood hehe.

Buying Depends is never fun.

Hi there,

I've been on Lexapro on and off for almost 10 years. In this span of time, I've experienced bed-wetting as a side effect about 4 times. Most recently tonight. It seems to happen when I've either missed a pill (like today), adjusted my dosage, or am withdrawing from the medicine. I'm glad someone out there is having the same experience as me. I'm almost 100% sure it is the medication. I did notice that tonight I was in a pretty deep sleep. Not sure if missing my dosage made me more tired than usual. But I have an 11-month old, so I'm usually pretty tired! Planning to mention this to my doctor at my next visit. I've been too embarrassed to say anything! Hope it gets better for you!

Happened to me twice while on Lexapro. I didn't take it for long, maybe 4 months. It happened two nights in a row early in & never again.

I've been on Lexapro & have never experienced this side-effect. I feel badly for your experience, however. It must be terribly embarrassing & frustrating to deal with this issue. Good luck with it.
