Is anyone taking this drug? I just got a prescription for it today after being off meds for 3 years. I've never taken it before. I used to take prozac and it didn't help that much. I really hope it helps me feel better!
Thanks for this!

I have been taking it for 20 days now... I have seen relief depression wise, still waiting to see relief for anxiety. I think probably I am going to up my dose, to see that happen. Side effects for me have worn off mostly.. stomach upset is common, and I also dealt with some muscle twitching that has gotten better. Everybody reacts to meds differently though, so give it a try. I am trying my hardest to be patient to see better results myself.

I took my first pill and it made me sleepy. I took a nap and now my head feels weird. Hopefully I'll get used to it soon. Glad to hear it's helping with your depression!

midnight, you may be better taking it at night before bed. it can cause drowsiness from my understanding. I was on Lexapro (sister med of Celexa) and it caused me to be very zombie-like during the day. I guess I didn't feel any anxiety or depression because I didn't feel much of anything when I took it in the morning. if it makes you sleepy, try it at night. keep us posted on how it's working for you!

I take it. I take mine in the morning because it doesn't make me sleepy but whatever works for you is best. It took me about 4 weeks to start seeing improvement and it wasn't a drastic change, but I kept feeling better after that point too.

Hi SpyderMonkey, could u share how long celexa has been working for you?
I've been on Paxil about 6 months and while it worked very well in the beginning, the side effects of nightmares and night sweats suck and now it doesn't seem to be holding back this depressive episode at all. My mother had luck with Celexa and I've already gone thru Prozac, lexapro, and Effexor...all the same work for a bit, then not work deals. Now I just have to properly ween off P and onto C...which is a daunting prospect...I'd love to hear posts from more Celexans : )

Hi there!! I take Celexa, and have been for some time now....I cant say if I am experiencing any side effects....I havent had any weight gain, nausea, or any of that and it slowly helped with my depression....BUT lol...theres always a but....I am freaking exhausted.....I dont know if its the Celexa causing it or not though....I take it at night to help combat this, and have tried all sorts of different times in the evening, to no avail....the next day I just want to sleep all day and all night....but like I said, not sure if its the Celexa....I also take 50 mg of Topamax to control the entertaining side of me....so I have no idea....it does help with depression though and I def notice it if I dont take it like I should.....so should I be psycho or tired?? lol Best of luck to you....

I took celexa 3 years ago. I never had a problem with it and it helped with my anxiety and panic attacks. I came off it 6 or 8 months later with no problem. I felt I did not need it anymore when i tried going back on it the following year I couldn't handle it and it made me suicidal as with this past year as well. Don't know I don't get the same effect as the first time I took it. Anyway on different meds.

Co worker has been on celexa for about two years and has no problem
