hello everyone! I have not been on here in quite some time, due in part to being busy and my depression. Since I've been here, my pdoc has tried me on many various medications, i start a new one tonight before bed. I am just curious to know if anyone else has ever been on the same combo as me, and if it's been effective for them. I know medication works differently for everyone, like i said i'm just curious.

I am on Lithium, and will be starting Abilify.

Looks like a good combo to me.

If you would add an SSRI/SNRI antidepressant to that, it would be a KILLER combo for bipolar depression. Both the lithium and abilify would boost the effects of the antidepressant, the lithium would fight suicidality, and the mood-stabilizing properties of the lithium and abilify would keep you from going manic on the anti-depressant.

IMO, lithium+abilify+SNRI is like the holy grail for Bipolar I. But lithium+abilify is a strong combo as well, especially for someone prone to mania.

The only bad thing about adding an antidepressant is that it would make you manic again. I had to cutoff all antidepressants because of that. It wasn't fun.
But everyone's chemistry is different. It may work for you.
