I'm so bitter and angry right now... I'm hoping that I am still on this drug program {Trillium}.

The way that this program works (for those of you not familiar with this) is that it's for people who are unable to afford their perscriptions. You pay so much in a quarterly and then basically the rest of the perscriptions are $2.00.

Well last month I paid about $83.00 for my Effexor last month, throught it on my Visa because I didn't have that kind of money.

Well today I call up my pharmacy and I ask about my perscription, it's in file and the pharmacist is going to fill one of the 2 month perscriptions up for me.

Well I asked her how much this would cost me...

Something like........

$92.00 I don't have this kind of money, I may have something like $40.00 to my name!

I'm so pissed off, it should be going down lower the the $83.00 that I paid last month, not UP!!

If it doesn't go down one month I'm quitting my meds F it, I need to be on them but there is no way each month I need a refill that I can pay this every single month, I have no freakin' INCOME!!!!

im so sorry!!! You may look at the website for Effexor. Now many of them have forms that allow you to apply to get your meds free. Maybe you can switch to a med that has a generic counterpart like prozac.

I'm sorry Sundance. I'm having to give up a couple of my psych meds as..they aren't covered by My medicare part D plan. I think Medicare part D will wind up as a fiasco. Dumb bunnies can't run a social program..as important as this. I am for Socialized medicine..however it will only work as good as the Lawmakers and drug companies want it too. Poo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got a 3-month supply of Effexor free from the mfr. Visit www.pparx.com and you can see which meds you're on have free drug programs.

I don't buy medication online, I have my perscriptions for my Effexor from my psychiatrist.

I've never had it amount to this much in a row before, that's why I'm bitter about it.

I've emailed Trillium to see if it happens to be a mistake or something like that. I have no choice but to pay for it, even though I can't put it on my credit card, but have too, don't have the cash.

I don't buy medication online either. Almost all drug companies have "indigent patient" programs, where if you make under a certain amount, they will give you a 3 month supply of meds for free. Your pdoc has to write a script and sign the form and mail it in. Not a big deal. pparx.com is a clearinghouse website for all those drug company indigent patient programs. Give it a try.

I'll look into the pparx.com site candybear... thanks.

EDIT:

I don't think I can use it, it looks like again it's just for people in the US.

I'm in Ontario.

Well the thing is that I am already on a drug benefit program through there, Trillium, but you still have to pay so much in a year in order for the medications to be $2.00, the other one you mentioned I think it's the ODB is for seniors...

I'll have to look further I guess and see if there is anything else I can do about it.

Thanks for the links...

Update:

I don't have to pay the $91.00 for this months perscription.
My psychiatrist phoned me this afternoon and told me that there is no way I should have to pay that amount... and to phone the pharmacy to see if anything changed.

So the woman that I talked to on the phone yesturday I guess when she typed in my name the Trillium stuff did not kick in at that moment, who knows, but it's $2.00 and i'm relieved, that I can afford!
