Hi I'm 29 I got diagnosed with a.d.d. And depression.
Last week I tried the meds the dr gave me. Generic Effexor 75mg and adderall 5mg well I threw up acid I got dizzy and ended up throwing up like water then all day I felt good and motivated but that was at moment between chaos in my head I couldn't sleep I didn't eat the next day I tried it again this time I didn't throw up but it made me hyped up even though i there were select moments where I felt great. Well I stopped and I think this is where it's all in my head I felt rollacoaster of emotions. Week pass I tried taking today 37.5 mg of Effexor alone and got dizzy and nasseau is it the meds or my anxiety making me sick after taking the pill

Sounds like the meds. Not sure which one is the issue, but give your doc a call and let him know what is going on. The not sleeping and the not eating because you are not hungry could be the adderall. Those are common side effects, unless you were not eating because you were sick. The vomiting isn't usual.

I've been on Effexor for years so it's a bit hard to remember exactly what it was like starting it. I do remember being naseaus and really dizzy and having bad headaches the first few weeks I was on it, but those side effects eventually went away.

But 75 mg, is a pretty high dose to start with. I started on 37.5 mg and worked my way up slowly.

As for the adderal, that's a stimulant so it could definitely be affecting your anxiety and sleep.

I associate a kind 'background nausea' feeling with all the psych drugs . . . which certainly made me not want to eat. It's a known side-effect of a lot of the drugs too, not sure about effexor specifically - you could check the leaflet that comes with the tablets.

Crappy thing about psych meds is that you try many before you get something tolerable. I've been on prozac, zoloft, celexa, trazodone, remeron, ativan, wellbutrin, seroquel and lamictal. Not all at once of course!

Only because I survived it, nearly didn't, and my current combo kind of works, can I say it was worth it.

I have bipolar disorder and antidepressants always make me feel awful and I hear that is common enough. Even one SSRI can do it. Zoloft had me crazed from day one and I stuck with it just to see... Have you explored that possibility of bipolar with your doctor? Especially with the ADD diagnosis too.

As for sticking with it, Wellbutrin had me crazy for several weeks and I've adjusted so, though it can be hard if you have the support of someone who can say, get off that drug now and the sense to listen, a trial may be worth it.

Yes 75Mg of Effexor is a big jump from nothing, there are free starter packs that my doctor gave me started at 37.5, then moved to 75 after a week.

I know lots of people have had great success with Effexor but you do have to be careful starting and stopping this drug.

And 5 Mg of Adderall is a low dosage to start with, but keep in mind Adderall kicks in quickly and will end quickly, can give you a sudden rush (like a double espresso) then a sudden crash later
