Somewhere a while back there was a thread about the cost of meds at differing pharmacies.
I'm on my third day in a new state. The particular city I'm in has NO WALGREENS. I have never lived more than 1.5 miles from a Walgreens, so I am at a complete loss. Somebody said on that thread that their prices were near the top, anyway. My Medicaid didn't transfer from my previous state of residence, so I have to apply all over again, and in the meantime, I'm paying for a couple of meds out of pocket. I need to find a cheap pharmacy. Could someone with better computer and memory skills than I have find that thread for me? Thanks! Candy |

I remember people saying Costco was cheapest, and you don't need a membership to go to the pharmacy and get prescriptions filled.

It's probably not much help, but check the little mom and pop pharmacies when you get a chance. The one that's in our little grocery store has cheaper prices than the big chain stores.

I think that was it, yes. I also remember, along with Lar, that someone said Costco was cheapest. I don't know if there's one here, though. I'll have to check it out!

If there is an A&P grocery market with pharmacy, call and ask them what their price(s) are on your med., awhile back there was quite a difference from Rite Aid,CVS and a locoal private/family owned pharmacy (they were the highest),CVS was next highest, Rite Aid was better but A&P or in some states is called Superfresh, came to be the lowest price for a certain med my dog needed, it was generic though, generics can save money too, if your body is fine with it.
Generics are cheaper, due to the fact when a pharmaceutical companies patent runs out they sell them to labs, that just make the stuff, do not have to have researchers because the patent they purchased has the "recipe" the company making the generic doesn't have to pay researchers to create the new meds, adds, etc. It pays to call different grocery markets that have pharmacy connected with their stores. Lots of luck with this
