I have changed my mind on Cymbalta, it's the best drug.

All the side effects have gone and I think my sex drive is coming back.

Viva Cymbalta.

That's awesome! I feel the same way. It seems to be the only AD that really is effective for my depression, and the side effects are no worse than any other AD I've been on. Glad to hear it's working out for you!

I took it for several years and it was great, but when it lost it's effectiveness, coming off of it was awful!

It doesn't really affect my depression, but it's good for anxiety.

How long did it take for you to start feeling the therapeutic benefit?

About two days, but I went straight onto a 60mg dose, which is not the usual way.

The full effect of the drug takes about a month.
Thanks for this!

I just finished my week at 30mg and am now on 60mg. So far I can see some mild positive results for anxiety/depression. Side effects (nausea) are annoying but nothing sever. You said it took you a month? That's encouraging, cause after 1 week I would again say mild improvement but im not where I want to be by quite a margin. Heres hoping we all have luck on it!
Thanks for this!

Just finishing my second week...staying on the 30 mg doseage. I still have the nausea, but I have found that drinking coca-cola helps with that (or any carbonated beverage for that matter). I do like to have a beer every once in a while, but I have found that I am very anxious the day after having even just one beer. So, on the meds and off the beer, I guess. I do hope that it works as advertised.

I decided to switch from cymbalta which seemed to be helping the depression because of no sexual drive back to Lexapro which helped me years ago. Now I have no drive for anything. I am going to go back on the cymbalta as soon as I see my p. again.

Im on day 16 of Cymbalta 60mg. Days 13 and 15 were awesome, in fact probably the best days ive had in 2 months. Days 14 and 16 have been bleh. I HATE the inconsistency. If the med is going to make me better than why do I have to suffer days of depression in between great days. Not every day can be great obviously, but I'm pretty sure most people don't have great days followed by crappy days without having some OK days in between. I really feel bad for anyone with bipolar and envy your strength because I am just dealing with swings from moderate depression to feeling good again, I cant imagine the swings from mania to deep depression. But if we are being as optimistic as possible, Cymbalta has stopped the major depression for these 16 days at least and have done fairly well for anxiety. UGH so tough waiting this stuff out.

No weight gain for me yet. Staying on 30 mg of cymbalta. Fatigue has definitely been an issue for me, but I think that is more related to me not sleeping because of unsettled things in my life rather than the medication. I'm into my 35th day of it, and it seems to be working out fairly well. I'm not ready to refer to it as "awesome" yet. I think the Grand Canyon is awesome. Cymbalta is working as advertised for me.
