What is this madness?

I finally was going to take it, and Walgreens said they couldn't get my company to pay...They called my doctor, but they said it could take until tomorrow. I don't know what alternative the doctor will give me...I'm somewhat shocked.

That is odd. Effexor has been around for ages. I've had problems with newer meds that are more expensive, like Viibryd, but effexor is a very commonly prescribed med.

Your doctor will probably have to fax in a form to the insurance company with a justification and it will eventually get covered. I hate the insurance hoops doctors have to jump through sometimes.
Thanks for this!

Yes, chances our the doctor can send in a form appealing the coverage for your effexor.

Also, Cymbalta and Pristiq are the only other 2 SNRI's out there, save that Pristiq is just a metabolite of effexor and I'm not sure if Cymbalta has a generic.
Thanks for this!

It has a generic, right? So how expensive could it be? Why would the insurance company put up a fight?

Yes it does indeed. So deos Effexor XR. I use it. I think it's about $30 for 30 150mg caps. I think someone has made a mistake there. Maybe the ins co won't pay for the name brand?

They said it could take 24hrs to hear back from insurance company/ doctor. I'm hoping it works out, because I'm going through a lot right now.

I got it, thinking it was just a mistake because when I called the next day, and when they reprocessed it went through for less than five dollars. Good, old generic meds...

I'm feelin puddle-y now. Head is achy, no energy or desire to do anything. I'm hoping Effexor returns me back to normal...

I take Venlafaxine (Effexor). I have had success with it. Remember to give your body time to adjust to the medicine and to report any bothersome side effects to your doctor. Keep us posted on how you're doing!

Will these side effects go away?

I have a horrible headache that doesn't go away even when I take pain medicine. Also, I feel shakey and dizzy. Food disgusts me. I tire easily.

It's been like five days. Will there ever be relief, or are these permenant side effects?
