Hello I am bipolar. Treatment began about 2 years ago. My meds have yet to be right. I have been on lithium carbonate for almost 2 years. I am on 1800 mg. My level is .9. My dosage was increased about 2 weeks ago to 1800 mg.

I am also on 300 mg of lamotrigine. I was on 15 mg of Abilify, but a week ago she had me decrease it to 10 mg and then starting today decrease to 5 mg because Dr. wants me off of it.

I was just diagnosed with anxiety and my Dr. doesn't want to give me anything for it until I am off of Abilify.

Since decreasing off the Abilify, my anxiety has been very high. And with the increase with the lithium carbonate, I've had this floaty, disconnected, dazed feeling.

Since starting lithium I have steadily gained almost 40 pounds. And I have a few more side effects as well.

I guess the point of my post is that I am so discouraged. I know the meds are helping me, but the side effects are really getting to me. I'm tired of it. I can't get a hold of my Dr. I've been trying since Monday. I don't know what to do. Feeling this floaty and dazed, I don't even want to drive. I've been reading and supposedly it will go away, but how long do I give it? I wish my Dr would call me.
I'm sorry this is so long. I'm so lost.

I wish I knew the answer, sadly I don't. If you need to talk, I'm always here. Good luck <3

I feel that weight gain of this magnitude is an unacceptable side effect.

The 'dazed' feeling you are getting could definitely be attributed to the Abilify, but you said you are tapering off of it?
