Hi Everyone,
My pdoc appointment actually went really well today!
We got there a half an hour early, and his client before me left early so he saw me almost right away. It was nice that he spent an hour with me. He had an accent but not as bad as the last pdoc I saw. He seemed very thoughtful and like he did care. My caseworker was there with me. She had suggested yesterday that I write down everything I'd want to say to him and she brought that with me so I wouldn't forget. It turns out I remembered everything.
He's gonna raise my zoloft to75 mgs, which will be helpful. He also suggested adding welbutrin to the zoloft in order to give me more energy during the day. I've heard mixed things about that med, like that it can cause anxiety. However, I do want to have more energy.
He's gonna take me off the tenex, since I'm not sure it's really doing anything and there's some confusion about why it was even prescribed. He did suggest a low dose of xanax for anxiety. That kind of scared me as I know how adictive benzos can be. My caseworker asked if it would be a PRN or daily and he said it was up to me. I asked what was better and he said one pill daily would probably be better, as I'd get the same amount in my system all the time and so my mood would be chemically regulated.
Luckily I don't have to worry about these new meds til January, the end of the month when I see him next. I said I was really nervous about starting new meds near the holidays and he actually listened!
Thanks everyone for your support. If anyone has experience with welbutrin or xanax I'd love to hear your thoughts. Another thought I had is that perhaps taking the xanax would counteract any anxiety that the welbutrin might cause. Also, any thoughts about whether taking it daily or PRN, which works better.
Anyway, thanks again for your support.

Hi Eta,
Glad the xanax worked for you. Taking your dad's probably wasn't the best idea, i've heard that you're not supposed to take others prescriptions but I guess if you were ok then what can you do about it now?
Glad to know that if you only take it once a day it should be ok.
I was reading about welbutrin and it said that if you take it with benzos it could increase the risk of seezures. Anyone heard anything about this?
