Hey all. I was just given 50mgs of trazodone to help me sleep at night. Anybody taking this for sleep? How did it work for you.

Thanks!

I was on trazodone, but the side effects made me have to switch to another sedative. It interfered with my sleep cycle and made me feel tired during the day.

That's my body. Others have had success with it.

I have taken it for a good while. I don't think it's working as well as it once did.
Thanks for this!

Hiya,

Did not work for me I'm afraid but think it's because sleep problem related to anxiety and Trazodone does not bring me calmness. But works well for lots of people.
Thanks for this!

Trazodone is a wonder drug for me. I can finally sleep.

I started with a very large dosage but I've been able to cut it down over time. The key for me is to take it about 9 hours before I want to get up--I end up getting 7.5-8 hours of sleep and that averts any feelings of grogginess. If I take it late and get up, say, 6 hours later, I am a lot more groggy.
Thanks for this!

I took it once in the hospital. It gave me the worst headache of my life and haven't touched it since.
Thanks for this!

I love it and have used it for a long time. I noticed that sometimes I need to take a break from it--for a month or two. I'll use melatonin during that time. both the melatonin and the trazadone seem to build up in my system and don't work as well so I switch it up. I think what sketis said was right on--make sure you give yourself enough time so you don't have grogginess. good luck!
