I started taking Paxil about 8 days ago. I have been noticing things. Side effects I suppose. Headaches, shaking hands, not getting enough sleep, waking up in the middle of the night feeling startled.
Also some sexual side effects. It isn't that my sex drive is diminished, not exactly... but it takes forever to finish... if you know what I mean. It is really frustrating. I don't want to sound lewd, but having an orgasm was one of the highlights of my day. Now I cannot even have that. I just give up, unsatisfied and irritable. Do these side effects go away?

Paxil completely turned off my sex drive. It is one of the most known drugs to do that. The non sex drive will continue as long as you are taking Paxil. The other side effects I don't know about. I was on Paxil for 3 years and I was completely celibate those years because, ya know, didn't work at all.

Paxil killed my sex drive too. Luckily I was single during that time, so it didn't affect me too much, but I noticed that I wasn't even aroused like I used to be when I was on it. I've switched to Pristiq since and I'm better. Paxil also caused a lot of weight gain, another reason for me to get off of it. Although my mood was so much better, just couldn't take the side effects anymore.

To clear things up: Pretty much every SSRI will destroy your sex drive, unless you are on an extremely low amount like what they give for anxiety.
After testing out a couple SSRI's, I found that there were clear differences in stepping the dosage of any SSRI. From 'A very minor change noticed' to 'If it has to do with genitalia, it is irrelevant'. As far as the insomnia, SSRI's also screwed up my sleep. I recently decided against regularly taking Prozac because there was a resurgence in the times where I would wake up into a panic attack in the middle of the night. Hope this helps, and best of luck. My personal opinion: SSRI's are good for nothing.
