Well this first started when the doc said I should go on clozarel because of my mouth movements (tartitive diskynesia or however it is spelled)

So I start off with these meds:

Saphris
Trileptal
Wellbutrin
Lithium
Xanax

Basically Saphris and Xanax are taken away and trileptal was reduced when they added 25mg of clozarel. Basically I ended up in an irritable mania and I pushed my husband and I was put in the psych unit for a few days.

At 100mg, I sleep 14-16 hours a day. So now my doc has cut me back to 50mg. But it is turning out not enough, I do get up in the morning now, but I'm overemotional and my psychosis is coming back a little.

I'm trying to figure out how to bring this up to my doc. My husband doesn't want me to give up on cloazerl, but I sort of want to even though I know my TD will probably come back. Hard decision.

You could keep a written log of your sleep time as well as other symptoms and side effects, and take that to show your doctor. It can take a while, but most people adjust and and won't need to sleep so much after a few weeks or so.

I've found Seroquel XR to be much more effective for bipolar disorder and to regulate sleep than any other medication I've tried, or seen used.

Personally, it helps me sleep much better, and for longer, and is an above-average mood stabilizer.
