I started Wellbutrin XL 150mg about 4 or 5 days ago, and I have been having some major body temperature issues.

I cycle every 3-5 minutes between sweating and shivering. I can't control it in any way, and it's start to become a pain to figure out what the hell to wear that works for both extremes.

Anyone else have this issue before?
And any suggestions for how to deal with it until it hopefully goes away?

thankss

I am on Wellbutrin 150mg twice a day. My side effects was not what you described about yours. The side effect I got was anxiety that was intensified with coffee and cigarettes. Note that Wellbutrin is effective for those wanting to stop smoking. Anyhow, as the weeks went on,
I don't get the anxious side effects.
Discuss what ur experiencing with whoever prescribed the Wellbutrin, just so adjustments could be made depending on the two of you.
Perspiration is light for me, so I have had the same side effects as you.

My body's thermostat does not alert me if I have a fever, either. Maybe that's why I can tolerate extremes in temperature.

It surprisingly didn't make my anxiety issues worse.

To me fluctuations from feeling like I'm burning up to I'm freezing, hot and cold and then hot again, cold again, (maybe both at the same time!) is a symptom of anxiety.

I have never had that effect with Wellbutrin, but Effexor definitely increased my 'inner thermostat' and I often felt very warm, though never uncomfortably so.

Even during my previous 5 hour long panic attacks, I never had temperature fluctuations like this. its not from anxiety.

JD, I've never had that effect from Wellbutrin, but that's just me. Sounds like a terrible experience......

Have you thought about mentioning it to your doc? I don't even have a clue why the body would do that, offhand. Sounds worse than hot flashes.

Hope you get well soon!

Thanks My next appointment isn't until the 29th, which is the same day I'm supposed to double my dose (300mg of XL) >.<
