Hello, Hope i am posting in the correct area. have been suffering with anxiety and depression for 10 plus years and sometimes debilitating. it is good for 6 mths bad for 6 months and so on. well i just had it so now i have been seeking some alternative therapies chiro, homeopathic, acupuncture, reiki, meditation, yoga. well the latest was a supplement i was given and so leary of taking even though they say it's okay. so i am trying to find out some info --i have bad tmj and menstrual cramping pms so i was given magnesium lactate by standard process they say it's great because it's a whole food and does not upset your stomach. Does anyone have any experience with mixing meds and supplements? I wanted to take the edge off of this anxiety. I take Effexor XR 150 mg and clonzepam .5 mg 3 times a day. I used to be on Xanax for so many years and it stopped working it seemed but I don't really like the clonzepam. It just doesn't stop the anxiety for me. I went up to 4 and i didn't see a difference. So my Dr is always trying other meds so was hoping someone might have info on relaxation from magnesium lactate by standard process. thanks for any help.

I'm not familiar with that product. Maybe somebody else will speak up soon. I'm not adding any supplements to the prescribed meds I'm taking. I worry that it could be risky. I know, for example, that someone shouldn't take St. John's Wort with a prescription anti-depressant.
You might consider asking your psychiatrist. And a pharmacist. ![]() I know some folks do acupuncture, yoga, and those kinds of "supplements," since they wouldn't actually possibly interact with medications. |

I just take a multivitamin. If I took a supplement it would be Omega 3, but I've been eating a lot of tuna lately.
