Hi ya,

Was just wondering if there is any anti-psychotic meds that are weight neutral? I am currently on 20mg of Olanzapine and i have put on 4 stone.. I want to come off it but my worker won't let me come off any anti psychotic meds cos of what happens when i come off it..

Me and my partner want to try for a baby but i am trying to loose weight but i can't seem to loose it even though i am doing exercise and healthy eating..

From what I've heard Olanzapine is the worst for weight gain. I've been on Risperidone for years and have never gained any weight on it. I've even managed to loose a significant amount of weight on it, when I dieted.

I don't remember the drug Splitimage mentioned causing weight issues with me either. If you Google such drugs on the Internet, then you might be able to pull up a list of what percentage of the people during trials gained weight on the various drugs in the anti-psychotic category.

I did well on Abilify, and have just gone back on it again. It is the only AP that did not give me weight gain.
