I lost some of my short term memory while on it...and I have a really good memory (think that is a part of my OCD) so it was particularly distressing, but regardless, just ODD. I had to have a friend tell me if I had done something that day or if it was the day before.

This was awhile ago I tried it, but I posted a thread on Effexor recently and seeing they are both SNRIs, now I REALLY don't want to try the Effexor. So just curious about the Cymbalta....thanks.

I have been on Cymbalta for about 8 weeks. I am having really WEIRD dreams (I mean, weirder than usual for me) and also finding that strange things just pop into my mind, particularly song fragments and odd bits of old memories. While I am not ruminating very much any more (which is good) I still feel tired a lot and really look forward to an afternoon cup of coffee (which I never used to do).

I ruminate alot myself which is extremely uncomfortable (as you well know I am sure), but what you are experiencing must be pretty weird, plus the odd dreams, too. I really wonder how this drug works on one's brain, I mean the exact chemical influence it has and all that (probably way above my head though). I hope you feel better soon and that these things stop happening to you.

Cymbalta made me suicidal and I attempted suicide while on that drug.

Wow...lamictal did that to me but I never tried it, just thought about it every second. Hope you are feeling better now.

I take cymbalta and it's about the only thing that has ever helped my depression. I don't know if I ponder stuff any more now than I ever did. I know that, overall, I am better able to function on it than I ever did off it. The only really bad thing about it is I get withdrawal symptoms if I miss a dose.

I've been on Cymbalta since Nov 2007. I am now at the max dose of 120mg daily. I haven't noticed any weird side effects like what you have mentioned. In fact, I don't recall having any side effects at all. Every body is different and will react differently to the same medication. Cymbalta has really helped my depression, while I am also on a mood stabilizer, I am doing so much better now than I was 6 yrs ago.

Tried for 2 weeks and started having twitches/jerks in my arms and legs and occasionally my tongue (scary!!). One night I could not sleep because my back jerked every minute or so.

I took Cymbalta for 6 weeks. I was constantly clenching my jaw (and yawning!! worst combo ever) and couldn't keep any food down. Ended up stopping it because it made me really irritable/aggressive (it is worth noting, however, that I am bipolar NOS).

I had insomnia with Cymbalta, but then again every med I've tried has given me insomnia issues. The hard part was the withdrawal from Cymbalta- I was getting hot flashes and was just a mess.

I briefly tried Effexor, but it just made me feel weird so I stopped.
