Can psyc meds cause aching pain in your bones? My bones hurt, not from standing or sitting too long, or exercise, though that does make the pain worse, they just constantly ache....legs, arms, back. I can't connect it to anything physical, so could it be a med side-effect? Or pain caused by depression?

Depression can cause aches and pain. I certainly had that. I even had mild fevers a lot. Cymbalta lessened the pain a noticeable amount for me. It didn't eliminate it but it did lessen it. SNRI's are known for their analgesic effects. SSRI's are used to treat pain, but I find them too sedating. I'm now on Lamictal and don't have depression related pain. Lamictal is an anti-epileptic drug. Go figure.

i've seen the commercials on cymbalta & asked my doc about pain caused by depression. she said dep could cause aches & pains, but that's all she said. she took me off a couple of meds & reduced one to see if i felt better physically. i actually do, & am not having problems from side-effects i was, but the pain persists. also, price of meds are a big factor. if they're unaffordable, i can't buy them.
