Has anyone noticed any changes where your sense of appreciation for doing things that you like becomes diminished? When I was on seroquel I remember feeling pretty good like I gained weight (I'm thin) and liked to eat, I used to be a little zany and chill and felt pretty good about myself with a good deal of self confidence .......okay so this is supposed to be a dopamine antagonist now I had made a switch to geodon and things began to change like I lost my appetite and food consumption became reduced, I had no hunger and to my dismay I lost much of the weight that I had gained on seroquel and subsequently my libido went south to where its virtually non existent. I'm going to be switching back to seroquel soon thinking that I will be better off like how I was on it. I've had more problems with geodon its made me pretty much impotent. So I would like to know if any of you have had similar circumstances with your meds where you lost things that you found pleasureable to do. I really don't know the significance of dopamine, all I did was a dictionary search and it was a little scientific for my layman sensibilities, its supposed to be a pleasure chemical or what!? And along comes the antagonists that ........block dopamine or what but how do people experience this phenomenon? Less dopamine ...then what? Things change in our lifestyles is my presumption.

I can comfortably tolerate 80 mg on Geodon without it impacting my ability to orgasm. Anything higher than that it becomes difficult.

Dopamine is a very powerful neurotransmitter that controls a lot of things. I'm an artist and I've lost all creativity as well as motivation to do most things since I've been on Geodon. I do things because they have to be done not because I want to. It's a balancing act between symptoms and side effects.
