i recently started celexa and abilify for bp2. i pulled out of the depression in about five days, went baseline for three, then up to hypo since Thursday. yesterday and today i've been extremely restless and agitated, suicidal, thoughts of SI, etc. it feels like my skin is on fire. i feel like I have to MOVE all the time.
i just read that this is a side effect of abilify. my question is does this side effect go away eventually? because I can't take this med if it does this to me forever. i have klonopin but I can't take it during the day because it knocks me on my butt. I sound drunk when I take it and don't sleep. anyone have good luck with abilify?

Sorry you're going through this wildflowerchild
![]() I've felt exactly as you describe on several meds, abilify included. For me it was dose dependent. I was increasing by 2mg a week to 10mg and suffered this agitation on 6mg & 8mg. It went as soon as I got to 10mg, but it was a rough 2 weeks. ![]() *Willow* |

I felt the SAME with abilify. I was given it for agitation but instead i felt RESTLESS,i could not sit at one place. I HAD to keep moving ALL the time. It was awful. My doctor said that it would go away and I had to keep taking it. I also read on the web about it that with some people it went away after a while, and with some it got worse. I think you should speak to your doctor, as I did and abilify was switched with zyprexa(olanzapine). Now I don't feel that I have to move all the time. |
