My food intake has gone through the roof. I had a healthy appetite before, but now it's out of control. I don't even have to feel hungry to want to eat, and I can't seem to ever feel full. What the heck is going on? I keep hearing and reading about everyone losing weight and having appetite decreases due to the stimulant effect. But does that happen to me? Nooooooo. I have to become an eating machine, and it's making me feel like c.r.a.p.

Oh no -- I've heard of many more people gaining weight on Wellbutrin than losing! Sorry. I can't take it because of a history of seizures, so don't have any personal experience to share -- just that of friends.

I'm so ticked because I worked so hard to take off 15 pounds that I put on a year ago, and now it seems like it's going to come back. Unwanted Wellbutrin side effect?

It's scary. I've become this insatiable eating machine. I don't like it at all.

I went and bought veggies this morning and a bag of ice so I could have ice water. Well, I ate a bunch of veggies and dip, plus a bunch of other junk. I'm probably eating 3000 calories a day right now, if not more.

Interesting. I haven't gained any weight even with the increased food intake. I read where it can increase your metabolism, so it increases your appetite too.

I'm feeling really, really good, even though I'm not sleeping all that well. (One of the dogs likes to sleep on top of the covers and pin me down. No matter how many times I make her go on the floor, she comes right back up). I have to wonder how much of the feel good-ness is med related and how much of it is finally being in a happy relationship.

The doctor has me on what I think is a strange dosing regimen. I'm on 200 mg of the sustained release form, but she told me I could take both tabs at once. I've been spacing them about 6-7 hours apart instead. I take one when I start work and the second one around 3:00 or 4:00, so if there's any lag in the medication effect, it's while I'm sleeping. I'm going to have to clarify the administration schedule with her, but if the way I'm taking it is working for me, I'm guessing she'll say to keep it the way it is.

I tried wellbutrin because Prozac made me too tired all the time. After being on wellbutrin a while I quit. I had some strange fits. Yes they were things I shouldn't have blown out of proportion but I got really angry so I went off them and back to Prozac. Better tired than angry I say.

The increased appetite/weight gain seems to have reversed itself. It needed a little help though. I decided to go back to writing down everything I eat and the calorie counts, otherwise I just eat and eat and eat. It probably didn't help matters that I was PMSing at the same time. Unwanted Wellbutrin side effect?
