So I ended up taking celexa again and ... it's totally shrunk my appetite :> For the last four days anyway ...

Perfect timing cos I think I put on a kilogram or two lately - I noticed it in my bikini the other day Wow a positive side effect?? - prolly cos i have been eating lazy food cos been blah and can't be bothered with good stuff (I am a bit of a nerd about food).

Anyone else have this or other positive side effects ... heh I can't believe I made this thread ... :>

I should add that last time I took it I am convinced it made me put on weight - I started popping out of my Replay jeans which are my i-am-in-my-perfect-weight-range measure.

Weird.

I haven't tried celexa. Wonder if the side-effect is due to the combination of drugs your taking now as apposed to then?

I only take that ... and I haven't changed anything else in my diet.

I sometimes take something thermoduric before exercise (cos I'm lazy and anything that makes exercise more efficient in fatburning is dope). But not changed that habit either.

Anyway, I'm not complaining ...

Some drugs do have positive side effects. That's great!

It's wonderful when a med has a positive side effect, isn't it?

I actually gained 30 lbs on Celexa so I guess everyone's experience is different. I lost the weight after I stopped taking Celexa. I don't think Celexa increased my appetite. It just drained my energy and made me feel very lazy; I had an overwhelming feeling of inertia whenever I was home alone. So, I didn't keep up on my exercise regime while I was taking it.

I'm on Lexapro now -- started taking it for depression -- and as a surprising side effect, I haven't had a panic attack in nearly a month. I wasn't expecting that to happen.

I hope Celexa keeps working for you. We're so used to all the unpleasant side effects of meds. It's wonderful when something works and has a POSITIVE side effect!

I think so Wow a positive side effect?? i am the type who needs justifications for taking meds and i often think blah i don't need this or am not entitled to take it. so i guess the appetite suppressant thing is awesome for me ....

apparently it may not last but hey i'm gonna take advantage of it ...

lexapro? not much different apparently. ask psisci he's the expert ...

Wellbutrin has had a few positive side effects for me; weight loss, increased sex drive, and improved...um... sexual function. I'm tapering off effexor too, which helps. The effexor just didn't do anything for me, except make me numb (physically and mentally).

Although, wellbutrin has given me a pretty annoying persistent side-effect (tinnitus). It's constant and I always have to turn the volume up a little louder.

My doc told me that Lexapro is sort of a mirror of the chemical structure of Celexa. Apparently, it works in a similar way, but with a smaller dose. So far, it has been working well for me. I'm not getting the lethargy I experienced with Celexa. I still have the energy to exercise. I have lost 5 pounds since I started taking it (maybe due to my new, busier job and all the flights of stairs I'm running up and down every day). I'm keeping a closer eye on my weight this time round. I wasn't paying attention to my weight when I was on Celexa. The extra weight I gained sort of snuck on me from behind -- on my arse. LOL

LOL. I'm shaped the same way. 32D and a 25" waist and I'm only 5'4". (My poor mum is a 32H!!! and tiny everywhere else.) It's so hard to find skirts and pants that cover my bum and aren't gaping at the waist. My best friend has the same problem. She and I used to joke about opening a clothing store specifically for women shaped like us. We were going to call it "The Big Back Porch." LOL. When it comes to tops and jackets, if I find something big enough for the bewbies, it's too big everywhere else. Most clothes in the stores these days are cut for women who have no curves.

You should be glad you don't have D's. When you're short like us, D's can really throw off your center of gravity and make you likely to tip over. LOL. I'm not clumsy, I just have big boobs. Wow a positive side effect??

Oh Juliana you feel my pain ... you both do ...

I'm 5'6" (I always thought I was 5'7" but had that myth dispelled rather unceremoniously when my best friend told me i was completely wrong - heh).

So I have more height than you two but it's still sooo noticeable when I put on weight.

I loved clothes shopping in South America, I've got the best jeans in the world from Buenos Aires. They fit soooo beautifully.

And funnily enough my favourite bikini is from Greece, it is a triangle but when it's tied properly it gives the best shape. HAWT.

:>

I need to go shopping in Buenos Aires! I had a friend in art school who was from the Bahamas. He brought back some photos of a carnival/parade. All the women were wearing tiny bikinis and had big booties just like mine. The men there LOVE it and the women aren't ashamed of their curves. I think I was born in the wrong country. Wow a positive side effect??

Me too ... Like just chillin on the beach in Copacabana and Ipanema there are so many women who are so comfortable with their bodies. So you can't really help but relax. And being all a similar shape - it's so sexy. I don't think I've ever felt so comfortable just walking round in my bikini before.

The funny thing is it's not OK to go topless (that's often perceived as slutty) but the bikini bottoms are g-strings ('floss'). I couldn't do that but I did love just being happy wearing a bikini and not feeling that my bewbs were out of place ... if you know what i mean???

Ah, a customer! LOL. I need short length jeans too. I usually end up shopping in petite stores or buying capris in regular stores but they're full-length on me. My sister is 5'9" and has a fabulous wardrobe that she's willing to share, but I can only wear her capris. She's also a B, so all her cute tops look slutty on me.

Your poor mum! I have 4 aunts -- all under 5' and all with big boobs. (At 5'4", I actually feel tall at family reunions and my sister looks like a giant! LOL.) My aunts all have back problems. My mum has been lucky. She's 63 and still doesn't have any back pain. She's very active and fit. She has to spend a fortune on bras that are comfortable and supportive, though, and she even sleeps in a bra because she's too uncomfortable without one. She bought a new one last week at a 25% off sale in a lingerie boutique and it was $265! That's what it costs when you have a non-standard size, though. (You can't find 32H at Walmart.)

"Cute tops look slutty" - YES! Or totally totally wrong. I find I have to be very careful with halternecks for example. If the cut is not correct they'll be very far from flattering.

I tend to stick with a lot of black on the top, and straight across strapless / tube tops or off shoulder or one shoulder for going out - anything simple really, complicated or high necklines are out.

I hate shopping for work clothes, finding shirts that fit round the bust without giving the popping out impression and yet still taper in at the waist is a NIGHTMARE.

screw all those people who make clothes for sticks or pears or apples ... Wow a positive side effect??
